Executive Bios
Tedd M. Green President
Tedd Green serves as president of Cook Pharmica, the contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing division of Cook Medical. Mr. Green holds a B.S. in business and a master's in business administration from Indiana University. Prior to joining Cook Pharmica, his professional work experiences included financial, marketing and general business strategy assignments with Arthur Andersen and Eli Lilly and Company. With experience in both the service and manufacturing industries, Mr. Green guides the organization to maintain a focus on providing best-in-class customer service while delivering process excellence in its contract development and manufacturing offerings. Prior to serving as president, Mr. Green served as vice president of business operations and chief financial officer for Cook Pharmica from 2005 until 2008.
Veda Walcott Vice President of Quality
Veda Walcott serves as the vice president of quality for Cook Pharmica, the contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing division of Cook Medical. Ms. Walcott holds a B.S. in clinical laboratory science from Indiana State University and a master's in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. She began her career as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory setting before continuing her career in the pharmaceutical industry as a microbiologist and in quality control management. She also served as a microbiology consultant in Indianapolis, advising new life science companies on market trends, assisting with presentation preparation for venture capital requests, and providing support services for CGMP aseptic processing facilities. Veda ensures that effective quality systems are in place, and that responsibilities and authorities are defined, communicated and implemented throughout Cook Pharmica.
E. Morrey Atkinson, PhD CSO, Vice President of R&D and Drug Substance Manufacturing
E. Morrey Atkinson, PhD, serves as the CSO and vice president of R&D and drug substance manufacturing. Dr. Atkinson holds a B.S. in biology from Indiana University and a PhD in biological sciences from Stanford University. Upon completion of his PhD, Morrey joined Geron Corporation, where he worked on the biochemistry of human telomerase. In 1995, Morrey joined Targeted Genetics Corporation, where he served in various roles, including vice president of development, focusing on the development and production of vaccines and gene therapies. In 2002, Morrey joined Eli Lilly and Company, where he held a variety of management positions in bioproduct development and manufacturing, and gained extensive experience working with antibodies, peptides, enzymes and other recombinant proteins. Prior to joining Cook Pharmica in 2011, he was head of biotechnology manufacturing sciences at Eli Lilly’s commercial site in Kinsale, Ireland. Morrey has numerous publications and patents on process development of biologics focusing on upstream, downstream, viral safety, analytical and quality by design.
Ryan Hawkins Vice President of Drug Product Manufacturing
Ryan Hawkins serves as the vice president of drug product manufacturing at Cook Pharmica, the contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing division of Cook Medical. Mr. Hawkins holds a B.S in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to joining Cook Pharmica, Mr. Hawkins held various roles of increasing responsibility in fill-finish manufacturing operations with Baxter BioPharma Solutions and Cook Pharmaceutical Solutions. Upon joining Cook Pharmica in 2007, Mr. Hawkins served as project director responsible for the design and delivery of the fill-finish expansion. Mr. Hawkins leads all aspects of the drug product operations, including process engineering, technical services, manufacturing and packaging.
Steven D. Perry Vice President of Engineering
Steven D. Perry serves as vice president of engineering at Cook Pharmica, the contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing arm of Cook Medical. Mr. Perry earned a B.S. from Purdue University and a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in chemical engineering. He also has a master’s in business administration from Northwestern University. Mr. Perry joined Cook Pharmica in 2010 with more than 20 years of biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience. He has served in numerous management roles and has extensive experience in therapeutic protein and monoclonal antibody production, contract manufacturing and bioprocess engineering. Prior to his current role, Mr. Perry served as director of drug substance manufacturing and vice president of drug substance manufacturing at Cook Pharmica. Mr. Perry is responsible for drug substance process engineering, automation, facilities engineering, maintenance and calibration.
Cory Lewis Vice President of Business Development and Marketing
Cory Lewis serves as the vice president of business development and marketing at Cook Pharmica, the contract biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing division of Cook Medical. Mr. Lewis graduated from Indiana University with a degree in finance and holds a master’s in business administration from Northwestern University. Prior to joining Cook Pharmica, he served as vice president of sales and marketing at Althea Technologies, Inc., supporting the contract manufacturing division. Prior to that, Mr. Lewis worked at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, accruing more than a decade of biopharmaceutical experience in finance, marketing and business development. Since joining Cook in 2009, he has been instrumental in facilitating contracts with many multinational biopharmaceutical companies.
